(Newark, DE 19702) Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police are investigating a shooting in Bellwether Manor Townhouses – Newark. On Sunday, July 23, 2023, at 11:29 p.m., Patrol Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Bellwether Court – Newark in reference to a shooting. Officers arrived on the scene and located a 15-year-old male victim in the roadway. The victim had sustained a gunshot wound to his lower extremity. Patrol Officers immediately provided first aid and utilized a tourniquet. The victim was transported to a local hospital and remains in stable condition.
Detectives were later called to the scene to assume the investigation. This investigation is still active and anyone with information or surveillance video related to this incident is asked to please contact the Criminal Investigations Unit.
