(Wilmington, DE19808) Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police are currently investigating a shooting that occurred at 2040 Telegraph Road – Wilmington. On Sunday, February 4, 2024, at 3:14 a.m., patrol officers were dispatched to a business near the 2000 block of Telegraph Road for a disturbance. While officers were responding to the scene, it was reported that a shooting occurred at the same location. Officers arrived at the scene and encountered a large crowd fleeing from the parking lot. Officers learned that a 23-year-old male victim had been shot in his upper body and had been transported to a local hospital. Officers secured the scene and were able to contact the victim who is currently in stable condition.
Detectives from the Division’s Major Crimes Unit and Evidence Detection Unit have responded to the scene to assume the investigation. This remains an active and ongoing investigation and further information will be released as it becomes available. The public can expect to see an increased police presence in the area for the next several hours.
