(Wilmington, DE 19809) On Thursday, March 28, 2024, at approximately 12:25 a.m. Patrol Officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the unit block of Rodney Drive in the community of Edgemoor Gardens for the report of gunshots in the area.

When the units arrived at the scene, they located a 24-year-old male inside a vehicle suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his body. The officers administered first aid however the efforts were unsuccessful, and the subject was later pronounced deceased.

Shortly after this incident, at approximately 12:57 a.m., an 18-year-old male arrived at Wilmington Hospital suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and is currently listed in stable condition.  

Detectives from the Division’s Major Crimes Unit and Evidence Detection Unit have responded to the scene to assume the investigation. This remains an active and ongoing investigation and further information will be released as it becomes available.

Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police determined that there is no ongoing threat to public safety, and they may continue their normal daily activities.
