Drug Investigation Results in Arrest and Seizure in Bear

(Bear, De. 19701) Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Mobile Enforcement Team have charged 29-year-old Josh Beatty and 21-year-old Alexis Cathcart, both of Wilmington, following an investigation into drug dealing. Through thorough investigative methods, Officers identified Josh Beatty as a suspect in methamphetamine distribution.

On Friday, July 5, 2024, Josh Beatty and Alexis Cathcart were arrested at a business in the 1600 block of Pulaski Highway in Bear. The investigation led to the seizure of 28.6 grams of methamphetamine, 4.56 grams of crack cocaine, and 3 MDMA pills, commonly known as ecstasy.

Josh Beatty was transported to New Castle County Police headquarters, where he was charged with the following crimes:

  • One felony count of manufacture/deliver/possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.
  • One felony count of possession of a controlled substance Tier 2.
  • One felony count of possession of a controlled substance Tier 1.
  • One felony count of conspiracy second-degree.
  • One misdemeanor count of possession of controlled/controlled substance without a script.

Josh Beatty was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 02 and committed to the Howard Young Correctional Institution after failing to pay $20,200 unsecured bail.

Alexis Cathcart was transported to New Castle County Police headquarters, where she was charged with the following crimes:

  • One felony count of conspiracy second-degree.

Alexis Cathcart was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on her own recognizance.
