WILMINGTON MAN ARRESTED FOR UNLAWFUL SEXUAL CONTACT

(Wilmington, DE 19810) On Monday, November 11, 2024, officers from the New Castle County Division of Police arrested 61-year-old Joseph Clark, who resides in the 1500 block of Forsythia Ave in Wilmington. This arrest followed a tip regarding the possible location of a missing 17-year-old individual from Pennsylvania.

When officers contacted Clark at his home, he initially denied knowing the missing person’s whereabouts. However, the individual was subsequently located at the residence, leading to Clark’s arrest. Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Unit were notified and took over the case after Clark was transported to New Castle Police headquarters. During the investigation, it was determined that Joseph Clark had engaged in unlawful sexual contact with the 17-year-old victim while the victim was staying at his residence.

Joseph Clark was charged with the following offenses:

•Three felony counts of unlawful sexual contact second-degree with a person less than 18 years old.

•One misdemeanor count of endangering the welfare of a child by knowingly harboring a runaway

•One misdemeanor count of knowingly providing false statements to Law Enforcement.

Joseph Clark was arraigned at the Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard Young Correctional Institution after failing to pay $40,000.00 cash bail.
