On Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at approximately 3:50 p.m., officers responded to Old Forge Road near Evlon Court following reports of a shooting.
Preliminary investigations revealed that a 21-year-old man and an 18-year-old man were traveling on Old Forge Road when a suspect opened fire on their vehicle. The vehicle then crashed into a roadside fence, prompting both individuals to exit. The 21-year-old flagged down a passing school bus, transporting him to a nearby church. Officers arrived at the church and discovered the 21-year-old had sustained a gunshot wound to his upper body. They rendered medical aid until paramedics arrived. The 18-year-old was unharmed, though his clothing was damaged by gunfire.
The 21-year-old was immediately transported to a hospital, where he received treatment and is currently in stable condition. The 18-year-old was evaluated at a local hospital as a precaution and later released.
It is important to note that the school bus involved was not struck by gunfire, and no injuries were reported among its passengers or the driver. The parents of all passengers were promptly notified.
Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Unit and the Evidence Detection Unit later responded to the scene to assume the investigation.
