(New Castle, DE 19720) The Traffic Services Unit with the New Castle County Division of Police is currently investigating a fatal hit-and-run that occurred during the early morning hours of January 9, 2025. 

On January 9, around 4:00 a.m., patrol officers were dispatched to the unit block of Reads Way for a person lying in the roadway. It was discovered that a 54-year-old male was struck by an unknown car that left the scene. The victim was transported to a local area hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.  

The Traffic Services Unit responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.
