SAFE STREETS TASK FORCE MAKES MULTIPLE DRUG-RELATED ARRESTS IN NEW CASTLE COUNTY.

Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Safe Streets Task Force recently made several arrests following separate drug investigations launched in the fall of 2024. These investigations targeted the sale and distribution of controlled substances throughout the county, resulting in significant drug seizures and criminal charges.

Dontae Sutton (32)

On January 17, 2025, Detectives arrested Dontae Sutton of the unit block of Fairway Road, Newark. A search warrant executed at Sutton’s residence led to the seizure of:

  • 2.3 pounds of marijuana
  • 28.3 grams of THC wax
  • Packaging materials

Sutton was transported to New Castle County Police headquarters and charged with:

  • One felony count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance
  • One felony count of possession of a controlled substance (Tier 1)
  • One misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia

Sutton was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on $6,100 secured bail.

Dontae Sutton (32)


Dwayne McIntrye (43)

On January 21, 2025, Detectives arrested Dwayne McIntrye of the 200 block of West 29th Street, Wilmington. A search warrant executed at McIntrye’s residence led to the seizure of:

  • 155 grams of crack cocaine
  • 21 grams of heroin/fentanyl (equivalent to approximately 707 baggies)

McIntrye was transported to New Castle County Police headquarters and charged with:

  • Two felony counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance (Tier 3)
  • One misdemeanor count of resisting arrest
  • One misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia

McIntrye was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to the Howard Young Correctional Institution after failing to post $51,000 secured bail.

Joshua Branch (23)

On January 9, 2025, detectives arrested Joshua Branch of the 400 block of South Street, Townsend. A search of his residence resulted in the seizure of:

  • 4.5 pounds of marijuana
  • Drug paraphernalia

Branch was transported to New Castle County Police headquarters and charged with:

  • Two felony counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance
  • One felony count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance (Tier 2)
  • One felony count of possession of a controlled substance (Tier 2)
  • One misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia

Branch was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on $16,100 unsecured bail.
