(Wilmington, De. 19809) On Sunday, February 23, 2025, patrol officers from A-Squad arrested 18-year-old Alexander Corona in connection with multiple stolen motor vehicle investigations across northern New Castle County.
Between April and October 2024, the New Castle County Police investigated numerous vehicle thefts in Wilmington neighborhoods, including Paladin Club, High Point, Phillips Heights, Chateau Orleans Apartments, and River Ridge Townhomes, as well as Claymont Terrace and River Club Apartments in Claymont. Through investigative efforts, Detectives identified Alexander Corona as an occupant in several stolen Hyundais, Kias, Fords, and Chevrolets during these time frames.
Corona was located at a residence on the unit block of Pennewell Drive in Wilmington, where he was taken into custody.
Alexander Corona was transported to New Castle County Police headquarters, where he was charged with the following crimes:
- Six felony counts of receiving stolen property valued over $1500
- Three felony counts of conspiracy second-degree.
- One felony count of attempted theft of a motor vehicle
Alexander Corona was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard Young Correctional Institution after failing to pay $20,000.00 secured bail.
