(New Castle, DE. 19720) On Friday, August 8, 2025, a 99-year-old female from Wildel Avenue did not respond to her scheduled Senior Roll Call phone check. After several unsuccessful attempts to reach her, Senior Roll Call volunteers followed protocol and contacted her emergency contacts, one of whom was her daughter. Her daughter immediately went to the residence and found her mother on the ground after a fall that caused an injury. The woman had been unable to reach her phone to call for help. Emergency Medical Services responded and provided medical care, and she was later released. Senior Roll Call has been in touch with her, and she expressed gratitude for the service and support provided following the incident.
Since its launch in 1995, the Senior Roll Call Lifeline has played a vital role in saving lives. It often assists individuals who have experienced serious injuries or health issues that have left them unable to seek help.
The Senior Roll Call Lifeline is a complimentary service offered by the New Castle County Police, which calls its members’ homes daily to check on their well-being and ensure they do not require emergency assistance. If multiple attempts to reach someone are unsuccessful, help is dispatched to their home for a well-being check.
The program is FREE to all senior citizens or disabled residents of New Castle County.
