(Wilmington, DE 19809) On Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at approximately 8:25 a.m., Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Active Crime Trend Team were conducting proactive patrols near the Edgemoor communities. During this time, they initiated a traffic stop on a white Dodge Durango on Edgemoor Road near Interstate-495 for a traffic violation.
While speaking with the driver, 37-year-old Keith Wilson of New Castle, probable cause was established to search the vehicle. During the search, officers discovered a loaded .380-caliber handgun concealed inside the car. Further investigation revealed that Wilson is a person prohibited from possessing a firearm.
Keith Wilson was transported to New Castle County Police headquarters and was charged with the following offenses:
- One felony count of possession of a firearm by a person prohibited.
- One felony count of carrying a concealed deadly weapon.
- One violation of failure to signal.
Keith Wilson was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on $8,050.00 unsecure bail.
