The New Castle County Division of Police is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the driver and vehicle involved in a hit-and-run crash.

(New Castle, DE 19720) On Monday, August 25, 2025, at approximately 7:47 p.m., officers responded to the 100 block of Delaware Drive in the Collins Park neighborhood for a reported hit-and-run involving a child pedestrian.

Surveillance footage captured a white pickup truck, possibly a GMC or Chevrolet with an extended bed, driven by a white or Hispanic male. The vehicle also had a male passenger. The driver initially stopped and exited the vehicle but returned moments later and fled before police or EMS arrived.

Bystanders were able to obtain the vehicle’s license plate number; however, it was later determined to be fictitious.

The child was transported to a local hospital, treated, and released with no major injuries.
