DRUG INVESTIGATION LEADS TO TWO ARRESTS

(Wilmington, DE) In the Fall of 2025, Detectives assigned to the New Castle County Police Violent Crime Interdiction Unit initiated an investigation into 49-year-old Burtran Marshall, who was suspected of distributing large quantities of narcotics throughout the State of Delaware, including New Castle County. During the course of the investigation, Detectives also linked 36-year-old Dominique Marshall to the ongoing investigation.

On May 1, 2026, Detectives executed a search warrant in the 1500 block of North Broom Street in Wilmington, where Burtran Marshall was located and taken into custody. During the search, Detectives recovered approximately 230 grams of cocaine, 849 grams of suspected fentanyl, 13 grams of crack cocaine, liquid Xylazine, drug paraphernalia, including drug packaging materials, and more than $9,200 in cash.

Following the investigation, Burtran Marshall was charged with the following offenses:

  • One felony count of possession of a large-capacity magazine
  • Two felony counts of possession of a controlled substance, Tier 3
  • Two felony counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, Tier 3
  • One felony count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance
  • One felony count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, Tier 1
  • One misdemeanor count of resisting arrest
  •  One misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia

Burtran Marshall was arraigned at the Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution after failing to post $88,825 cash bail.


At the same time, on May 1, 2026, Detectives executed an additional search warrant in the 200 block of Madison Street to locate Dominique Marshall; however, he was not at the residence. During the search, Detectives recovered an AK-47 rifle, a .40 caliber handgun, a 9mm handgun, several boxes of ammunition, and marijuana.

On Monday, May 18, 2026, Dominique Marshall was ultimately located and transported to New Castle County Police Headquarters, where he was charged with the following offenses:

  • Four felony counts of possession of a firearm by a person prohibited
  • Three felony counts of possession of a large-capacity magazine
  • One misdemeanor count of possession of marijuana

Dominique Marshall was arraigned at the Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution after failing to post $58,100 cash bail.
