(Newark, DE 19713) Detectives with the New Castle County Division of Police have charged 57-year-old Orlando Gonzalez-Jimenez of Newark with multiple felony offenses following an investigation into the sexual assault of a juvenile that occurred in the unit block of Montvale Road.

In August 2025, Detectives were notified of allegations of incidents that occurred between 2016 and 2019. The investigation revealed that Orlando Gonzalez-Jimenez subjected a juvenile under the age of five to unlawful sexual contact while the child attended an in-home daycare operated from his residence. The alleged offenses occurred while the victim was present at the residence for daycare services. Detectives further determined that Gonzalez-Jimenez used threats of physical violence to coerce the victim into engaging in unlawful sexual activity.

Following a thorough investigation, Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Gonzalez-Jimenez. On Wednesday, July 8, 2026, Detectives assigned to the Fugitive Apprehension and Surveillance Team located him at his residence on Montvale Road and took him into custody without incident.

Gonzalez-Jimenez was subsequently transported to New Castle County Police Headquarters, where he was charged with the following offenses:

• Three felony counts of Unlawful Sexual Contact in the First Degree

• One felony count of Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child

• One misdemeanor count of Terroristic Threatening

Gonzalez-Jimenez was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution after failing to post $130,000 cash bail.

The New Castle County Division of Police believes there may be additional victims who have not yet come forward or who may be fearful of doing so.
