As we gear up to celebrate Independence Day, the New Castle County Division of Police encourages everyone to enjoy the festivities safely and responsibly.

๐Ÿป If You Drink, Donโ€™t Drive: arrange transportation early, designate a driver, or use a rideshare service.

๐Ÿ  Secure Your Home: Lock doors, windows, and vehicles before heading out.

๐Ÿš˜ Drive Safely: Stay focused behind the wheel. Avoid distractions and never drive impaired.

๐Ÿพ Protect Pets: Keep them indoors and away from loud noises or fireworks.

CAN YOU HELP IDENTIFY THIS SUSPECT?

The New Castle County Division of Police is asking for the publicโ€™s help in identifying a suspect involved in a series of criminal mischief.

(Wilmington, DE. 19804) On Tuesday, July 2, 2025, at approximately 5:05 p.m., Officers responded to Belmont Avenue for a report of an individual pouring an unknown substance on parked vehicles. Upon arrival, Officers located additional vehicles on Lorewood Avenue and Mary Street in the Richardson Park neighborhood that had also been deliberately covered in what was later determined to be motor oil.

Surveillance footage later obtained shows the suspect, a black female wearing a pink top, black shorts, and slide sandals, pouring motor oil from a container onto several parked vehicles along the roadway.
