New Castle County Police have arrested 27-year-old Timothy Showell for motor vehicle and weapon related charges in the community of Woodland Village.
(Newark, Del.-19702) Today (August 20) at 1:00 a.m., New Castle County police were dispatched to the 200 block of Barnwell La for a shots fired. Police learned that 27-year-old Timothy Showell fired rounds into a parked motor vehicle in the 200 block of Barwell La. The vehicle was not occupied at the time. Timothy Showell fled the scene in his motor vehicle where he lost control and crashed into another parked vehicle in the 100 block of McCormick Dr. Both vehicles sustained significant damage. Timothy Showell was then picked up at the scene of the crash by a family member and driven home.
While police were investigating the motor vehicle crash and shots fired incident, Timothy Showell responded back to the scene where he was taken into custody without further incident.
Timothy Showell was charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, four counts of reckless endangering in the first-degree, four counts of terroristic threatening and criminal mischief, leaving the scene of a property damage collision, failure to report motor vehicle crash, reckless driving, aggressive driving. Timothy Showell was arraigned and committed to Howard Young Correctional Institution for failing to pay a $29,000.00 secured bail. He was issued a no contact order with the victims.
