K-9 Track Locates Suspect After He Steals From A Motor Vehicle

New Castle County Police have arrested 50-year-old Christopher Affoon for theft from a motor vehicle.

(Newark, Del. 19702) Today (December 15) at 3:15 a.m., patrol officers responded to the unit block of Avignon Dr for a theft in progress.

The 24-year-old victim was leaving a friend’s house when he observed Christopher Affoon rummaging through his White Ford Sedan. Christopher Affoon fled on foot after being confronted by the victim.

New Castle County K-9 officer and his partner Diesel conducted a track which led to the rear of a store in the 3000 block of Pulaski Hwy. Police observed Christopher Affoon, who matched the description of the suspect standing in the wooded area behind the store. Christopher Affoon was positively identified and taken into custody without incident.

Christopher Affoon was charged with third degree burglary and felony theft. He was arraigned and committed to Howard Young Correctional Institution after failing to pay $1,000.00 secured bond and issued a no contact order.
