New Castle County Police have arrested for 23-year-old Hakeem Evans for charges stemming from a shots fired complaint in the community of Glasgow Pines.
(Newark, Del-19702) On Tuesday (February 6) New Castle County Police Patrol Officers were dispatched to the unit block of Thayer Court, in the community of Glasgow Pines, for a report of multiple gunshots. When the officers arrived on scene they learned that this incident stemmed from an argument on a school bus.
Witnesses reported that a 14-year-old victim was at his residence and then the witnesses saw a crowd of people walking towards the victim’s residence. The 14-year-old victim and a family member came outside and a black male from the crowd pulled a handgun from his waistband and fired multiple shots in the direction of the 14-year-old victim and the family member.
No person or property was reportedly struck by the bullets and no injuries were reported.
The New Castle County Police Patrol Officers investigation revealed that the person who discharged the firearm was 23-year-old, Hakeem Evans.
Hakeem Evans was arrested on February 9 and arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2.
Hakeem Evans was charged with 2 counts of (Felony) Reckless Endangering 1st, (Felony) Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony, and (Felony) Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited. He is currently being held at Howard Young Correctional Institution on $80,000 secured bail.
