(Wilmington, DE 19804) Yesterday (Feb 9), patrol officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the 1000 block of Thames St, in the community of Belvedere, for a report of a burglary in progress.  While enroute, the officers learned that the address belonged to Fight for the Families Fellowship Church.

When the officers arrived, they established a perimeter around the church property.   Shortly thereafter they located 54-year-old Charles Lecompte hiding in between a shed that had its front door handle broken off and a golf cart that was partially loaded with miscellaneous items.

The officers ‘investigation revealed that Lecompte drove to the church in the golf cart, broke the handle off the shed and started removing lawn equipment.

Lecompte was taken into custody without incident and transported to New Castle County Police Headquarters. There he was charged with one count of felony Burglary 3rd, one count of misdemeanor Theft, and one count of misdemeanor Criminal Mischief.
