What: The goal of the Holistic Officer Program (HOW) is to provide a service that delivers prevention and treatment of potential mental health issues for the New Castle County Division of Public Safety personnel.  This program will support wellness within the Division by offering a variety of well-being enhancement opportunities to officers, civilian support staff, and their families.

 This project was supported by a federal award through the COPS Office under the 2021 Law Enforcement Mental Health and Wellness Act.

The New Castle County Police Department is searching for 12 -year-old Caleb Laface.

(Newark, DE 19702) On June 3, 2022, patrol officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the unit block of Plover Circle, in the community of Sparrow Run for a report of a missing person.

When the officers arrived, they learned that 12-year-old Caleb Laface had left the residence on his black and green BMX bike and made statements that caused a concern for his welfare.

Caleb is a white male, 5’ 0”, 80lbs.with long blonde hair.   He was last seen wearing a maroon and black baseball cap, black hooded sweatshirt, dark gray sweat pants with white stripes, and black Velcro sneakers. (Claymont, DE 19703) Last night (Jun 1), at approximately 10:11 p.m., patrol officers were dispatched to the intersection of Commonwealth Avenue and Brandywine Avenue, in the community of Overlook Colony for the report of a shooting that had just occurred.

When the officers arrived, they located a 20-year-old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his torso.  The victim was transported to a local area hospital where he is listed in critical condition.

Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit arrived at the scene and assumed the investigation. 

The investigation is ongoing; however, detectives are confident that they have identified the participants, and additional updates will follow.
