Wilmington, DE 19809 – On Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at approximately 1:12 p.m., officers from Patrol “A” Squad were conducting proactive patrols in the Edgemoor community when they observed a Hyundai Elantra commit a traffic violation, leading to a traffic stop on Governor Printz Boulevard.
During the traffic stop, officers identified the passenger as 23-year-old Marsean Earl of Wilmington.
As officers continued their investigation, they located a loaded .45-caliber handgun inside the vehicle. Further investigation determined that the firearm had been in Earl’s possession and had been reported stolen in Richmond, Virginia.
Earl was taken into custody and transported to New Castle County Police Headquarters, where he was charged with the following:
• One felony count of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
• One felony count of Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
• One felony count of Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
• One felony count of Receiving a Stolen Firearm
Earl was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $93,000 cash bail.
