(Wilmington, DE 19808) Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police have arrested 20-year-old Michael Pennacchiotti of Bear, 31-year-old Shaun McCollum of Bear, and 25-year-old Callie McCollum of Bear for assault and kidnapping charges. On Thursday, November 11, 2022, at approximately 11:14 AM officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to a residence on Bardell Drive, Wilmington – Sherwood Park II in reference to a kidnapping. It was reported that three subjects were attempting to break into a residence. Additional information advised that the subjects then forced an unknown victim of the residence into a vehicle before fleeing the area.

While officers were checking the surrounding area the 22-year-old male victim returned to the residence after being released by the suspects. The victim had obvious injuries to his face and person and was transported to a local hospital in reference to treatment. The victim reported he was inside the home when he heard banging at both the front and back doors. The victim reported he responded to the back door to check same at which time a male suspect grabbed him and pushed him to the ground. The victim stated the male suspect and a female suspect then assaulted him and struck him with a stun gun prior to forcing him into a car.

Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit arrived on the scene and assumed the investigation. Through surveillance footage and investigative measures detectives were able to identify the three suspects as Michael Pennacchiotti, Shaun McCollum, and Callie McCollum.

Shaun McCollum was taken into custody on November 11, 2022, without incident. Callie McCollum was taken into custody on November 14, 2022, without incident. Both Callie and Shaun were transported to police headquarters and charged accordingly. Detectives continued to investigate the incident and ultimately located Michael Pennacchiotti on Friday, December 2, 2022. Pennacchiotti was taken into custody with the assistance of the New Castle County Division of Police Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT) following a search warrant at a residence on Sheridan Drive – New Castle.

Michael Pennacchiotti (20) was charged with one felony count of kidnapping in the second degree, one felony count of conspiracy in the second degree, and one misdemeanor count of assault in the third degree. Pennacchiotti was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 2 and was issued $23,000.00 cash bail. Pennacchiotti was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution.

Shaun McCollum (31) was charged with one felony count of kidnapping in the second degree, one felony count of conspiracy in the second degree, and one misdemeanor count of assault in the third degree. Shaun was arraigned by New Castle County Superior Court, issued $23,000.00 secured bail, and was later released after posting.

Callie McCollum (25) was charged with one felony count of kidnapping in the second degree, one felony count of conspiracy in the second degree, and one misdemeanor count of assault in the third degree. Callie was arraigned by New Castle County Superior Court, issued $23,000.00 secured bail, and was later released after posting.
