(Hockessin, DE 19707) Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police have arrested 31-year-old Scott Taylor of Pennsylvania in reference to criminal mischief charges. During the month of April, officers responded to multiple reports of a suspect deliberately dumping nails and screws on the roadway near the entrance of residential communities. Surveillance footage captured a black pickup truck near the area of the incident.
Through investigative measures, a suspect was identified as 31-year-old Scott Taylor from Pennsylvania. Officers further linked Scott to a black pickup truck that matched the vehicle captured in the surveillance footage. Scott Taylor was taken into custody without incident on April 26, 2023. The investigation revealed that Taylor was targeting a specific individual in the neighborhood. That individual was identified and made aware of the incident.
He was charged with one felony count of criminal mischief, one felony count of stalking, one misdemeanor count of criminal mischief, and one misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct. Taylor was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to Howard Young Correctional Institution after failing to post $5,000.00 cash bail.
