(Bear, DE 19701) Patrol Officers with the New Castle County Division of Police have charged 55-year-old Jeffrey Ellsworth of Wilmington with multiple crimes following a stalking investigation.

On Friday, March 8, 2024, officers were dispatched to the area of Christiana Meadows Apartments regarding a domestic-related stalking complaint. Officers learned between February 27, 2024, and March 8, 2024, Jeffrey Ellsworth left multiple threatening messages on his former girlfriend’s phone. Officers also discovered an active no-contact order between Jeffrey Ellsworth and the victim stemming from a previous investigation.

Officers from the Division’s Mobile Enforcement Team located Jeffrey Ellsworth on 3/9/2024 and he was transported to New Castle County Police headquarters and charged with the following crimes:

• Two felony counts of stalking.
• Two misdemeanor counts of harassment.
• Six counts of misdemeanor violation of a no-contact order.

Jeffrey Ellsworth was arraigned at the Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard Young Correctional Institution after failing to pay $6,000.00 secured bail.
