K-9 Guci Retirement

Today, Friday, March 14, 2025, we celebrate the incredible 9+ years of service from K-9 Guci, who is officially retiring from the New Castle County Division of Police.

At 11 years old, Guci, a Belgian Shepherd from Slovakia, joined our department in 2016 at just 1.5 years old. Partnered with S/Cpl. Devan Williams, she became a dual-purpose patrol and explosive detection K9, playing a vital role in keeping our community safe.

This afternoon, Guci enjoyed a fun game of catch with her favorite ball — and proved she’s still got it! 🐕 She then took one last ride in the police car, marking the end of her distinguished career.

K-9 Guci is now retiring to a well-deserved life of rest and relaxation with S/Cpl. Williams, spending her days napping, playing with her toys, and getting all the love she deserves.

The entire Department of Public Safety extends our deepest gratitude to K-9 Guci for her unwavering dedication and service, wishing her all the best in this new chapter of her life!
