(Delaware City, DE 19706) On Monday, July 7, 2025, at approximately 9:27 a.m., Officers from the New Castle County Division of Police responded to a report of a shooting in the 100 block of Fifth Street within the Delaware City Trailer Park. Upon arrival, Officers located a 39-year-old male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite life-saving efforts, the victim unfortunately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

Through investigative efforts, Officers identified 22-year-old Shane Brank as a person of interest after he was observed fleeing the scene. Due to safety concerns, the Crisis Management Group was activated to assist in the search for Brank. At approximately 1:10 p.m., Brank was located and taken into custody without incident.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Unit responded to the scene and have assumed the investigation.
