🚧ROAD CLOSURE: 100 BLOCK OF STATURE DRIVE-SHERWOOD FOREST🚧

(Newark, DE 19713) Officers from the New Castle County Division of Police are currently on the scene of a motor vehicle crash involving a motorcycle in the 100 block of Stature Drive. Residents can expect the roadway to be closed between Stature Court and Fox Drive and avoid the area if possible.

TWO JUVENILES CHARGED IN VEHICLE BREAK-IN FOLLOWING K9 FIASKO’S TRACK

(Bear, DE. 19701) On Thursday, July 24, 2025, at approximately 5:03 a.m., Officers from the New Castle County Division of Police responded to a report of a vehicle break-in on the 1500 block of Christiana Meadows at the Christiana Meadows Apartments. Upon arrival, they discovered a Kia Forte with noticeable damage to the door handle, window, steering column, and ignition system.

As additional Officers arrived on the scene, one officer observed two individuals dressed in dark clothing fleeing across Route 7. One of the suspects, a 14-year-old male from Bear, was quickly apprehended by an Officer from the New Castle City Police Department, who had been dispatched to assist with the incident. The second suspect continued running away from officers along Route 7.

K9 FiasKo and his handler, Master Corporal DiGati, responded to the scene and immediately initiated a K9 track. FiasKo led officers to a spot just outside the apartment complex, where the second suspect, a 14-year-old male from Bear, was found hiding under a bush and taken into custody.

Both juveniles were transported to New Castle County Police Headquarters and charged with the following offenses:

Suspect 1: 14-Year-Old Male from Bear.

  • One felony count of attempted theft of a motor vehicle.
  • One felony count of conspiracy second degree.

He was arraigned in Family Court and committed to the New Castle County Detention Center after failing to post $2,000 secured bail.

Suspect 2: 14-Year-Old Male from Bear.

  • One felony count of Attempted theft of a motor vehicle.
  • One felony count of conspiracy second degree.
  • One misdemeanor count of criminal mischief under $1,000

He was arraigned in Family Court and released on $2,000 unsecured bail
