ARMED ROBBERY INVESTIGATION AT ROCKWOOD APARTMENTS

(Newark, DE. 19702) On Monday, January 26, 2026, at approximately 2:40 p.m., Officers from the New Castle County Division of Police responded to the 700 block of Alexandra Drive in the Rockwood Apartment Complex for a reported robbery.

Upon arrival, Officers contacted four victims who were working in the complex, removing snow. The investigation revealed the victims were seated inside a company vehicle when they were approached by two unknown black male suspects, both approximately 20 years old, wearing black ski masks. One suspect approached the vehicle, opened the passenger-side door, and used a handgun as a blunt object to strike one of the victims before taking the victim’s personal property.

During the incident, the driver of the vehicle accelerated in an attempt to flee the suspects. As the vehicle was leaving the area, one of the suspects fired a handgun at it, striking the vehicle; however, none of the occupants were struck or injured by the gunfire. The suspects were last seen fleeing the scene towards Route 40, and the victims’ stolen property was later recovered nearby

Detectives from the Division’s Criminal Investigations Unit were notified and responded to the scene to take over the investigation. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Detective Watson at (302) 395-8030 or via email at Daniel.Watson@newcastlede.gov

SENIOR ROLL CALL LIFELINE LEADS TO WILMINGTON POLICE RESPONSE AFTER MISSED CALL

(Wilmington, DE. 19805) On Saturday, January 24, 2026, an 83-year-old woman residing at Parkview Apartments in the 1800 block of North Broom Street failed to answer her scheduled Senior Roll Call phone check. After multiple unsuccessful attempts to contact her, the Senior Roll Call Officer followed protocol and notified the Wilmington Police Department.

Officers were able to communicate with the woman through the door and subsequently entered the residence. The woman was located on the floor, suffering injuries from a fall. She had been on the ground for approximately four hours and was unable to reach her phone to call for help. Emergency Medical Services responded and transported the 83-year-old to a local hospital for further treatment.

The Senior Roll Call Lifeline is a complimentary service offered by the New Castle County Police, which calls its members’ homes daily to check on their well-being and ensure they do not require emergency assistance. If multiple attempts to reach someone are unsuccessful, help is dispatched to their home for a well-being check. Since its launch in 1995, the Senior Roll Call Lifeline has played a vital role in saving lives. It often assists individuals who have experienced serious injuries or health issues that have left them unable to seek help.

The program is FREE to all senior citizens or disabled residents of New Castle County.
