Detectives from the New Castle County Police Department’s Drug and Human Trafficking Investigations Team have arrested 31-year-old Wamere Murphy of Wilmington and46-year-old Andrea George of Claymont on multiple felony drug charges.
The investigation, which began in September 2025, focused on the distribution of crack cocaine in Claymont and surrounding areas.
On Friday, January 30, 2026, Detectives executed search warrants at several residences linked to Murphy and George, including:
- The unit block of Dustin Drive, Wilmington
- The unit block of 4th Avenue, Claymont
- The unit block of Golden Acres Drive, Wilmington
- The 1700 block of West 6th Street, Wilmington
During the searches, detectives seized materials used to manufacture crack cocaine, as well as proceeds from drug sales. They also discovered that a juvenile was present during the operation and had been exposed to illegal narcotics activity.
Both individuals were transported to New Castle County Police Headquarters and charged with:
- Two felony counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance
- One felony count of second-degree conspiracy
- One misdemeanor count of endangering the welfare of a child
Wamere Murphy was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to the Howard Young Correctional Institution after failing to post $15,000 cash bail.
Andrea George was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution after failing to post $14,000 secure bail.
