PATROL OFFICERS ARREST TWO FOLLOWING VEHICLE THEFT INVESTIGATION

(Newark, DE 19711) Officers and Detectives with the New Castle County Division of Police have charged two teenagers following an investigation into multiple crimes. On Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 02:18 a.m., officers responded to the community of Hudson Village in reference to a report of 4-5 young males breaking into cars. Officers arrived to the area and located several cars that had been rummaged through near the area of Jacobsen Drive. Later that morning a victim called 911 and reported his BMW stolen. The victim reported that he was able to track the vehicle and stated it was currently in the area of New Castle.

Officers later located the vehicle parked near the area of Colony North apartments – Wilmington. Officers attempted to stop the stolen vehicle however, the suspects fled nearly striking officers and several vehicles. The vehicle then struck two unoccupied parked vehicles. Multiple male suspects then exited the vehicle and ran. Officers apprehended two suspects who were identified as a 17-year-old male from Newark and a 16-year-old male from Wilmington. Both suspects were transported to New Castle County Police headquarters.

The suspects were charged with

One felony count of theft of a motor vehicle

Four felony counts of burglary in the third degree

Five felony counts of conspiracy second degree

Five misdemeanor counts of theft

1 misdemeanor count of resisting arrest

1 felony count of disregarding a police officer signal

They were arraigned by New Castle County Family Court. The 16-year-old suspect was released on $6,000 Unsecured bail. The 17-year-old suspect was held on $6,000 secured bail.

POLICE CONDUCT FOUR SEPARATE FATAL HEROIN OVERDOSES

(New Castle, DE 19720) Officers from the New Castle County Division of Police are currently conducting four separate fatal heroin overdoses. The incidents occurred in communities within Bear, Newark, and Wilmington. The cause of death for each individual has yet to be determined by the Delaware Division of Forensic Science.

DETECTIVES ARREST SUSPECT IN RAPE INVESTIGATION – ASADULLAH PARDES (40)

(New Castle, DE 19720) Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police have charged 40-year-old Asadullah Pardes with multiple counts of rape. On October 5, 2023, patrol officers originally received a harassment report involving several victims. The victims in the case were identified as refugees who were part of a non-profit resettlement organization.

The suspect was identified as 40-year-old Asadullah Pardes of Claymont, Delaware. The investigation revealed that Asadullah worked for a non-profit resettlement service and was assigned multiple clients. It was reported that he was asking female clients on dates, making inappropriate comments, sending messages at inappropriate times, and showing up to homes unannounced. If the victims refused to go on dates, he would refuse to hand over documents and permits that the victims needed. Asadullah further sexually assaulted multiple victims on multiple occasions.

Through the investigation, three separate victims were identified. Asadullah was taken into custody without incident on November 4, 2023. He was charged with three felony counts of rape in the first degree, seven felony counts of rape in the second degree, ten felony counts of sexual extortion, three misdemeanor counts of coercion, and two misdemeanor counts of unlawful sexual contact in the third degree. He was arraigned by the New Castle County Court of Common Please and held in lieu of $275,000 cash bail.

The investigation is currently still active and ongoing. The Division of Police is concerned that there may be additional victims who have not come forward or may be fearful to come forward.
