TEEN ARRESTED FOR RESISTING OFFICERS, LOADED HANDGUN RECOVERED

On Saturday, November 29, 2025, at approximately 1:30 p.m., C-Squad Patrol Officers were in the area of Airport Road and Appleby Road when they observed two individuals believed to match the suspects from a criminal incident reported the previous day. Officers conducted a pedestrian stop and identified the individuals as a 17-year-old male and a 16-year-old male.

During the encounter, the 17-year-old male began exhibiting erratic behavior, and Officers determined he would be detained pending further investigation. The 17-year-old then physically resisted, leading to a brief struggle. Officers quickly gained control and took him into custody.

Once the 17-year-old male was taken into custody, Officers located a loaded 9mm handgun tucked in his waistband. The firearm was found to have a 3D-printed lower receiver and was loaded with a 10-round magazine, with an additional round chambered.

The 16-year-old male was not charged and was released at the scene.

The 17-year-old male was charged with the following offenses:

  • Two felony counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person prohibited.
  • One felony count of possession of a firearm by a person under 21.
  • One felony count of possession of ammunition for a firearm by a person under 21.
  • One felony count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
  • One felony count of carrying a concealed deadly weapon.
  • One felony count of resisting arrest.

The 17-year-old male was arraigned before Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the New Castle County Detention Center after failing to pay $65,000 cash bail.

Investigation Details:

On November 26th, 2014, at 7:24 p.m., New Castle County Police Officers responded to Bellwoode Drive in the Bristol Place Townhouses for a reported shooting. When Officers arrived, they found Steven “200” Brown in the parking area near his home.

Steven Brown later passed away from multiple gunshot wounds.
