(New Castle, DE, 19720) Officers from the New Castle County Division of Police have arrested 19-year-old Stephan DeShields of Wilmington and 19-year-old Nadihr Ross-Turner of Wilmington following a vehicle theft investigation. On Tuesday, November 11, 2025, just after 2:00 a.m., officers were dispatched to the community of Rutledge – New Castle for a theft in progress. It was reported that multiple suspects were walking around the neighborhood trying car door handles. It was further reported that the suspects were using tools to force entry into cars. Officers immediately responded to the neighborhood and located the suspects, at which time multiple foot pursuits ensued. A perimeter was established, and K9 Ramza and his handler conducted a track due to the suspects hiding in the neighborhood. The K9 team then flushed the suspects from their hiding spot as they ran directly into the hands of assisting officers. The suspects were taken into custody without incident and identified as Stephan DeShields and Nadihr Ross-Turner. K9 Ramza further assisted in locating tools that had been discarded by the pair.

Officers were able to link the two to a stolen Toyota Camry that was parked nearby. This vehicle had been stolen from a residence on Staghorn Drive prior to officers arriving. In total, the group was linked to 4 separate thefts or attempted thefts in the community. DeShields and Ross-Turner were charged with one felony count of theft of a motor vehicle, two felony counts of attempted theft of a motor vehicle, four felony counts of conspiracy in the second degree, two misdemeanor counts of theft, and one misdemeanor count of criminal mischief. They were both arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 11 and held in lieu of secured bail. Officers believe the pair conducted additional thefts. Investigation Details:

On Friday, November 11, 1994, at approximately 6:30 a.m., New Castle County Police responded to Lot 36 of the Mansion Park Townhomes construction site, located off Route 9 in New Castle, for a report of a deceased female.

The victim was later identified as Bonita Jones.

An autopsy determined that she died from blunt force trauma to the head, and her death was ruled a homicide.

(Wilmington, DE 19805) Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police have arrested 25-year-old Fatima Chambers-McKnight of Wilmington following an investigation into a shooting. On Sunday, November 9, 2025, just after 10 p.m., patrol officers were dispatched to the unit block of Court Drive in the Greenview at Chestnut Run community. It was reported that a female victim flagged down a bystander and advised she had been shot in the hand. The victim reported she was shot by an unknown suspect somewhere inside the complex, and she fled to a nearby business on Lancaster Pike. Multiple patrol officers responded to the complex and nearby communities to assist and search for the shooter. Fireboard personnel and medics responded to provide first aid and assist the victim who was then transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. NCCPD Detectives and Evidence Detectives then responded to the scene to assume the investigation.

Investigators reviewed surveillance footage, conducted a neighborhood canvas, and completed multiple interviews. The investigation revealed that the information provided by the victim, 25-year-old Fatima Chambers-McKnight, was false. The investigation revealed that the victim was involved in a domestic dispute with a known male suspect at an apartment inside of the complex. During the dispute, Chambers-McKnight, physically assaulted the male. The male then attempted to flee at which time Chambers-McKnight removed a handgun from her jacket. It was at this time, Chambers shot herself accidentally in her hand. It was reported that Chambers-McKnight then discarded the loaded firearm in the community. K9 Havoc along with his handler conducted a terrain search and located the firearm. Chambers-McKnight was later charged with one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, one count of reckless endanger in the first degree, one count of assault in the third degree, and one count of aggravated menacing. Chambers-McKnight was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 2 and held in lieu of $17,000 secured bail.
