NEW CASTLE COUNTY POLICE CAR STOP LEADS TO DRUGS AND GUN ARREST

New Castle County Police Mobile Enforcement Team arrest 22-year-old Newark man for drug and firearm charges. 

(Newark, Del-19702) On Wednesday (February 28), officers from the New Castle County Police Mobile Enforcement Team stopped a dark-colored Acura for a traffic violation in the area of Bear-Christiana Road, Newark.  During the car stop, the officers noticed evidence of Marijuana.  During a search of the car, the officers located the marijuana as well as a 9mm handgun.

The driver of the car, 22-year-old Khalil Malloy was taken into custody without incident.  He was charged with: Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon (Felony), Possession of a Deadly Weapon and Drugs (Felony), Possession of Marijuana (Misdemeanor), A Motor Vehicle Must Have Two Headlights (Traffic) and a Motor Vehicle Registration Violation (Traffic).

 Khalil Malloy was arraigned by the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and released on $7300 unsecured bail.
