New Castle County Police are currently investigating a shooting that occurred in the community of Chestnut Hill Estates.

(Newark, Del. 19713) Today (March 9) at approximately 2:08 a.m., New Castle County Police were dispatched to the intersection of Malvern Rd and Augusta Dr for a shooting just occurred. Police learned that one person was shot and transported to an area hospital by emergency medical services.

Detectives from the New Castle County Police Criminal investigations Unit arrived on scene and have assumed the investigation. This is an active and ongoing investigation and more information will be forthcoming.
