The New Castle County Division of Police, Criminal Investigations Unit is currently investigating a domestic-related shooting that occurred in the William Penn Village Apartments.
(New Castle, Del.-19720) On Sunday (7/2) at approximately 3:15 p.m., officers were dispatched to the unit block of Tulip Lane (William Penn Village Apartments) after receiving multiple calls for shots fired and a person screaming.
Police responded to the scene and found a 57-year-old woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to Christiana Medical Center.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Unit responded to the scene to assume the investigation. Investigators have identified the shooter as the victim’s estranged husband, Reginald Fayton, Sr. a 58-year-old man and an arrest warrant has been obtained.
Reginald Fayton, Sr. is described as a Black male, 5’6’’ tall and weighing approximately 240 lbs. He is considered armed and dangerous. If located, members of the community are advised to avoid contact and dial 9-1-1.
