(Wilmington, DE 19802) On Thursday, June 19, 2025, at approximately 8:02 p.m., Detectives from the New Castle County Division’s Active Crime Trends Team were patrolling the Edgemoor area when they observed a Nissan Altima commit a traffic violation. A traffic stop was initiated at the intersection of Governor Printz Boulevard and East Lea Boulevard, where Detectives contacted 24-year-old Jaylin Greenidge of Wilmington, the sole occupant of the vehicle. During the stop, Detectives observed a handgun inside the car. Greenidge cooperatively exited the vehicle, leading Detectives to discover several boxes of chocolate infused with psilocybin mushrooms and marijuana.
The handgun initially observed was determined to be a realistic replica of a Glock; however, a loaded, authentic Glock handgun was later located elsewhere in the vehicle. Additionally, Detectives located 28 grams of mushrooms, 25 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and packaging materials from inside the car.
Jaylin Greenidge was arrested, and transported to New Castle County Police headquarters, and charged with the following crimes:
- Two felony counts of possession of a weapon and a controlled substance
- One felony count of possession of a firearm if previously convicted
- One felony count of carrying a concealed deadly firearm
- One felony count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance
- One felony count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony
- One felony count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, Tier 3
- One felony count of possession of a controlled substance, Tier 3
- One felony count of possession of a controlled substance
- One misdemeanor count of driving while suspended
- One violation of operating a vehicle with improper tinting
Jaylin Greenidge was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution after failing to pay $50,251.00 cash bail.
