New Castle County Police are currently conducting four separate heroin overdose, 3 of which were fatal.

Today (December 13) between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., County Police responded to three separate incidents where a person was deceased and evidence of heroin use was recovered. Police also responded to one overdose where NARCAN was used to save a subject from overdosing. The incidents occurred in the Bear, Brandywine and Claymont area. The cause of death for each individual has yet to be determined by the Delaware Division of Forensic Science.

New Castle County Police have arrested a 16 year-old with stealing a motor vehicle.

(Newark, Del. 19702) Sunday (December 10) New Castle County Patrol officers were patrolling the area of The Sparrow Run Community. The officer observed a Silver Nissan Sedan making several traffic violations, at which time the officer conducted a motor vehicle stop for the infractions.

Officers learned that the vehicle was reported stolen to New Castle County Police from the 8000 block of Rodin Ct on Sunday, December 3^rd.

A 16-year-old driver and 13-year-old passenger were taken into custody without incident.

The 13-year-old was not charged.

The 16-year-old, from the 500 block of Concord Bridge Pl was charged with theft of a motor vehicle, driving without a license, failure to use turn signal, failure to stop at a stop sign, improper lane change, and driving a vehicle without consent of the owner. He was arraigned and released on $1,350.00 unsecured bond and issued a no contact order.

New Castle County Police Detectives have released a composite sketch of a burglary suspect that was interrupted by the homeowner.

(Wilmington, Del. 19808) On Tuesday(November 21) at approximately 10:30 a.m., New Castle County Police were dispatched to the 200 block of Steeplechase Cir for the report of a burglary. Police learned that the 39-year-old victim left his residence for approximately one hour. When he returned home, he observed a white male suspect in his residence. The suspect displayed a knife and tied the victim’s hands and feet. Before fleeing the residence, he threatened to harm the victim if the victim called the police. Only cash was taken from the residence.

The suspect is described as a white male, 5’10”, stocky build, with a short “scruffy” beard. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
