New Castle County Police are investigating multiple reports of damage to mailboxes throughout New Castle County.

(Newark, Del. 19702) Sunday (December 17) patrol units were dispatched to the unit block of S Perch Creek Dr in the community of Woodlands At Perch Creek, for a criminal mischief report to a mailbox.

During the course of the investigation, police learned that late Saturday night(December 16) into Sunday morning, several mail boxes had been damaged in a similar manner throughout the communities of La Grange and Woodlands At Perch Creek. Other communities where damaged mailboxes were reported, Brennan Estates, Rose Hill and Sylvan Park in Bear.

Police were able to secure surveillance video showing an unknown subject exiting a dark colored SUV and striking a mailbox with what appears to be a bat.

New Castle County Police have arrested 50-year-old Christopher Affoon for theft from a motor vehicle.

(Newark, Del. 19702) Today (December 15) at 3:15 a.m., patrol officers responded to the unit block of Avignon Dr for a theft in progress.

The 24-year-old victim was leaving a friend’s house when he observed Christopher Affoon rummaging through his White Ford Sedan. Christopher Affoon fled on foot after being confronted by the victim.

New Castle County K-9 officer and his partner Diesel conducted a track which led to the rear of a store in the 3000 block of Pulaski Hwy. Police observed Christopher Affoon, who matched the description of the suspect standing in the wooded area behind the store. Christopher Affoon was positively identified and taken into custody without incident.

Christopher Affoon was charged with third degree burglary and felony theft. He was arraigned and committed to Howard Young Correctional Institution after failing to pay $1,000.00 secured bond and issued a no contact order.

New Castle County Police have arrested 45-year-old James Rausch and 39-year-old Lynn Iman with stealing packages from the community of Christiana Green.

(Newark, Del. 19702) Tuesday (December 12) New Castle County Police were dispatched to the community of Christiana Green for the report of several packages taken from their residence.

A resident of the community arrived home to find James Rausch and Lynn Iman and their white Kia sedan parked in her driveway. The witness was able to capture a photo of the vehicle and the suspects. The photos were posted to Facebook by the witness and James Rausch and Lynn Iman were positively identified.

During the course of the investigation, police located multiple empty shipping boxes along Denny Road in Bear, Del., which lead police to additional victims. Police were able to secure arrest warrants for James Rausch and Lynn Iman.

Yesterday (December 13), James Rausch of the 200 block of Adams St and Lynn Iman of the 400 block of Ivory La  were stopped by Delaware City Police in the white Kia and were taken into custody without Incident.

James Rausch was charged with four counts of misdemeanor theft, two counts of criminal trespass in the third degree, five counts of misdemeanor conspiracy, and one count of misdemeanor attempted theft. He was arraigned and committed to Howard Young Correctional Institution for failing to pay $1,200.00 secured bail and issued a no contact order.

Lynn Iman was charged with Four counts of misdemeanor theft, two counts of criminal trespass in the third degree, five counts of misdemeanor conspiracy and one count of misdemeanor attempted theft. She was arraigned and committed to The Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution for failing to pay $1,200.00 secured bail and issued a no contact order.
