New Castle County Police are currently investigating the death of a 47 year-old female that occurred in the community of Wilton.

(New Castle, Del 19720) Today (May 7) at approximately 2:30 a.m., New Castle County patrol officers were dispatched to the unit block of Carleton Ct for a check on the welfare. Police located a women inside the residence deceased under suspicious circumstances.

The criminal investigation unit has assumed the investigation.

This is an ongoing and active investigation by New Castle County Police Detectives; further information will be released as it becomes available.

New Castle County Police are currently searching for 48 year-old Patrick Doyle, missing from the community of The Creeks of Marshallton.

(Wilmington, Del. 19808) Yesterday (May 6^th) New Castle County Police were dispatched to the 2000 block of Grafton Dr for the report of a missing person. Police learned that Patrick Doyle made statements that caused a concern for his welfare.

Patrick Doyle is described as a white male, 6’ tall, 195 pounds, black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a gray jacket, and a black t-shirt with the wording “lawn dale” on the front.

Police are asking anyone with information on the whereabouts of Patrick Doyle to contact New Castle County Police by dialing (302) 573-2800. Smart phone users can also text 911.

New Castle County patrol officers prevented a 78 year-old female from being scammed out of $4,000.00.

(Wilmington, Del. 19810) Friday (April 20) New Castle County Police were called to the unit block of Ramblewood Dr for the report of a fraud investigation. Police learned that a 78 year-old female was on her way to a bank after receiving a phone call that someone had kidnapped her daughter and they would kill her if she did not pay the $4,000.00 ransom. With help from a concerned neighbor, patrol officers were able to locate the women at a nearby pharmacy just as she was about to deposit the $4,000.00 onto a Visa green dot card. The victim was still on the phone with the suspect when police located her. Officers then intercepted the phone call with the unknown male suspect who then hung up the phone once he realized he was talking to police.

These types of investigations are difficult for local law enforcement to investigate because often times the perpetrator is calling from a different country.
